About

I am a San Diego–based human resources leader with experience across distributed, multi-state organizations in senior living, education, nonprofit and social services, financial services, and growth-stage environments.

My work sits at the intersection of people, operations, risk, and leadership. I am at my best when the problem is complex: helping leaders navigate difficult employee situations, strengthening how managers lead, translating workforce information into action, or building practical HR systems that create greater consistency and accountability.

My current regional scope includes 15–20 senior-living communities and approximately 1,300 employees across California, Arizona, and New Mexico, with senior-living HR experience spanning nine states.

Where I Add Value

I bring together multi-state HR operations, complex employee relations, employment-risk judgment, leader coaching, organizational change, and scalable HR systems. My strength is turning complicated workforce and organizational challenges into practical standards, clearer decisions, and stronger leadership practices.

Education

Master of Business Administration, Management and Strategy
Western Governors University

Certificate, Coaching for Organizational Excellence
San Diego State University

Bachelor of Arts, Deaf Studies / Education
California State University, Northridge

Why This Work Matters

My work in human resources is personal as well as professional. I am especially drawn to organizations whose work directly affects people’s lives and communities. Senior living has made that especially tangible for me. Across generations, my family has experienced what it means for older adults, families, and caregivers to depend on organizations getting leadership, culture, and human connection right.

Those experiences reinforced a broader belief: better systems and better leadership can create a better, different reality for employees, the people they serve, and the communities around them.

That is why I do this work: to help mission-driven organizations become places where accountability, dignity, care, and performance strengthen one another.

Beyond Work

I value a life rooted in creativity, faith, family, and community. I try to express that through service in my local church, community involvement, and a commitment to creating spaces where people experience dignity, belonging, and respect. I am part of the LGBTQ+ community and the author of Room Enough for Joy, a collection of reflections on memory, survival, joy, faith, responsibility, and love made visible. Outside of work, I enjoy theater, music, cooking, and time with family.

Those experiences shape how I lead: with curiosity, compassion, accountability, and a belief that people and organizations are stronger when dignity and performance reinforce one another.
